YRC 2019

The inauguration of Youth Red Cross took place on 6 September 2019 at 4.30 pm in Rajam Hall. The event started with Tamizhthai vaazhthu. The welcome address was delivered by DR. G Anandh Kumar, YRC Programme officer. DR. K Elangovan, YRC Programme officer, briefed the crowd about the activities of YRC for the year 2019-2020, which includes Blood Camp, Vision companion, Orphanage visit, Annual Camp and Youthfest.

Presidential Address was delivered by DR. T Thiyagarajan, Dean, MIT campus, who cheered the crowd with his friendly speech, along with his appreciation for the volunteers, who dedicate their time helping visually challenged brothers and sisters. He pledged along with the students to keep the campus clean and green.

DR. B Kumar, the YRC Coordinator, delivered the keynote address, who stressed the importance of education. He explained the history of YRC and made an appealing comparison between the survival of the fittest theory and the Mahabharatham.

Mr  Surekhaa Sundar, Speaker, Writer, Brand Architect, Trainer in his inaugural address, emphasized love towards a particular subject, gratefulness towards parents and three C’s consistent, commitment and completion. His speech didn’t fail to motivate students. He was pleased that the speeches were in Thamizh.

Mr M. Nithin, Chairperson of YRC, addressed the students stating ‘Human and Humanity’ to be the theme of YRC for this year. Ms S. Jayashree thanked the crowd’s presence with poetic Tamil lines. The event ended with National Anthem.
