CSMIT Inauguration 2018- A Report

The Computer Society of MIT is well known for its contribution of technical knowledge to the campus. The inauguration of CSMIT was held on the 20th of this month to mark the beginning of its various activities for this academic year. The venue was chosen to be Rajam Hall, from where every vision of MIT takes shape.

Regardless of their department, many students came together to work for the event. Despite holidays that followed the event, it was nice to see so many students attending the inaugural ceremony. The inauguration began with the auspicious Tamil thaai vazhthu and lamp lighting by the dignitaries on stage. The staff in charge of CSMIT, Mrs. D Piratheba mam delivered the welcome address.

A true leader inspires his subjects with his actions and words. Our beloved Dean, Dr Rajadurai Sir occupied the dais for a few minutes to deliver the Presidential address but his words left an everlasting mark in our hearts. CSMIT has evolved so much in the past few years only because of the hardwork of its members and office bearers. N Nivethan, Chairman, CSMIT explained all about the works and achievements of the association in the past years.

Following that, Ms. T Catherine Bina, Head of Computer Centre welcomed the Chief Guest to the occasion on behalf of the association. It was a moment of pride and happiness for all the MITians when Mr. Mani Parthasarathy, our alumni rose from his seat to occupy the dais. After college, he worked for a software firm for a few years which he quit and started his own company and now he is an entrepreneur. It must have been an honorable moment for him to stand as an achiever before his own juniors. His speech was very moving and inspired all those who attended the event. His inaugural address indeed inaugurated a spark of confidence among the audience. Instead of talking too technically, he spoke more about developing leadership qualities and team efforts. We were indeed lucky to be able to listen to his wise words.

Next, S Sivananthan, Vice Chairman, CSMIT delivered the vote of thanks. Finally, the inauguration came to an end with the entire Hall standing up for the national anthem. The event was precisely anchored by Senbaga Priya S, II Year, CT Department. And the dusk began with the dawn of the activities of CSMIT for this academic year.
