EEA Inauguration – A Report

The Electronics Engineers Association of MIT had its inauguration ceremony on 4th September at Rajam Hall. The event marked the presence of many notable personalities and it accounted for a great start to the activities of EEA in this academic year.

The Preparation:
As per the unwritten traditions of MIT, organization of the inauguration ceremony was taken over by the Final year students of the Department of Electronics Engineering. Planning has started almost before three weeks and all the prior arrangements were duly made.





Student Representatives:

As a faculty representative, Mrs. Mariammal was chosen as the President of EEA. As the student representatives, Mr . Karthikeyan S and Ms. Madireddy Ranjitha were elected the Chairman and Vice Chairman of EEA. Similarly, Mr. Yeswanth and Mr. Harish from third year were elected the General Secretary and Treasurer of EEA respectively.

The Dignitaries:
The dignitaries who occupied the dais were Mr. R Sridhar, General Manager (R&D), Airport Authority of India, Dr. C N Krishnan, Professor of Eminence(Honorary), AU-KBC Research Centre, Anna University, Dr. A Rajadurai, Dean, MIT, Dr. M Kannan, Head in-charge, Department of Electronics Engineering.




The Inauguration:
Rajam Hall began to fill up from 10.30 am by the second, third and the final year students of the Department of Electronics engineering. The chief guests arrived by 11 am and the event took off with a bang. Ms. Asmath Rafi anchored in a glorious manner. Tamizh Thaai vazhthu and Lightning of Kuthuvilakku were carried out as a mode of respect to the Tamil land and the Almighty.

Words of Wisdom:
DR.M Kannan, the Head in-charge, addressed the gathering with a welcome note. He was followed by Mr. Karthikeyan , Chairman, EEA who explained the activities of EEA in the past years. It was indeed a proud moment for the Elexians to hear the achievements of EEA. The presidential address was delivered by Dr. A Rajadurai which was thought provoking. Dr. C N Krishnan, Professor of Eminence (Honorary) presided over the felicitation. Ms. Madireddy Ranjitha, Vice Chairperson, EEA introduced the chief guest to the gathering. Then, Mr. Sridhar, the chief guest of the day shared his views upon electronics, aeroplanes and many more brain storming topics in an interesting manner.




The Felicitation:
After the speech of the Chief guest, all the dignitaries on the stage were honoured with mementos and gifts. The day came to an end with Mrs. Mariammal, President, EEA thanking the gathering with a vote of thanks. Finally, the National Anthem was sung and the inauguration ceremony came to an end. The year long activities of EEA headed off with a great start. Refreshments were provided to everyone who attended the event.
