Automeet 2018 – Report

Automeet, one of the oldest engineering symposiums in the country, was conducted by the students of department of Automobile Engineering on January 5 and 6, 2018. The symposium witness extensive coverage by the media, including News7, Cauvery News and Dinamalar. A large number of brands partnered with Automeet like OYO rooms, Poorvika mobiles, Dinamalar, Motor Vikadan, M&G Apparels, Max Riders community, LMES academy and Top Engineers.


Day 1:

The grand event was inaugurated by Mr. R. Vasu, Vice President, Brakes India Private Limited, accompanied by Dr. K. Arunaachalam, President of AEA. Various non-technical events such as Treasure hunt , AutoQuiz, Paper Presentation , CAD Masters , Gaming and Royal Rembrandt were conducted.


The workshops included IC engine Dismantling and Assembling with demo on Harley Davidson Street and Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R, Electronic Fuel Injection and Vehicle Dynamics witnessing many participants from colleges all over the country.


The flagship event of the day was the Autoexpo, which displayed an array of spectacular cars including Rolls-Royce Ghost, Audi RS7, Lexus RF-A, Porsche Panamera 911, Land Cruiser, Mercedes-Benz SLC-43 Coupe, BMW 5 series among many others. The event also featured many international and Indian spec sport bikes from various brands like Ducati, Yamaha, UM, Hyonsung and many others. It also featured the newly launched TVS Apache 310R, Royal Enfield 500 variants, the Gun metal Grey, Stealth Black variants along with other variants.




Day 2:

The workshops of the second day included Electric and Hybrid Engines, Vehicle Dynamics and Autotronix. The non-technical and technical events of the day included Mini-Turbo, Sedan Sherlock, Throttle up, Chassis Design, Paper presentation, Truss threshold and Royal Mechanic. Over 1600 students attended the workshops and participated in other events that were organised.



The Bike Stunt show was the most exciting event of the day which saw a huge audience, filling the stage with excitement. The Big Bang workshop was conducted by LMES Academy, free of cost, exclusively for 100 school students. Some online events like Ex-Quiz me, Online treasure hunt, Photography contest, online review contest were also conducted. 




The Alumni meet was held later on January 7, which had almost had 100 seniors ranging from the 13th batch to 64th batch take part in it. With the alumni sharing their personal and professional experiences with the students, it turned out to be a memorable day. They were treated with a sumptuous lunch and were gifted a memento as a token of gratitude. The Alumni meet winded up with the slogan of the Royalz, “Zindabad”.
