Persofest 2017 – Report

A small kid once asked a wise woman, “How do I discover thyself?”.

The wise woman replied, “Then you must prepare yourself to take a journey”.

The motto of PDA is “Discover Thyself” and it does act as an exhilarating journey to discovery yourself.  Persofest is one of our college’s remarkable initiatives which has now grown into a popular event among all students. It consists of a line of events, aimed at assessing one’s strengths and weaknesses. It is organised by the Personality Development Association of MIT every year.

Some of the events included De Ja Vu, Da Vinci Code, Creative writing, Debate, Mock Parliament, Connections and many more. Most of the events had preliminary rounds which then culminated with the Grand Finale on March 5.

All eyes, however, were on the Mr. and Ms. Persofest titles which were to be bagged by the best of the best. 10 breathtaking rounds, each unique and energy sapping in its own way, tested the will and sheen of the participants. Few of them were Aptitude test, Shipwreck , Block and tackle and stress interview, namely. Consistency played a vital role here, as not only participants were shortlisted as rounds progressed, but their scores from the previous round carried over to the next round, thus enabling the cumulative score to decide the winners. The titles of this flagship event were deservedly bagged by Soundara Rajan of second year Automobile Engineering and Asmath.M, of second year ECE.

The prizes were duly distributed by the PDA chairman, Jawahar of final Year Automobile Engineering, during the closing ceremony which was presided over by the the Chairman of MITAA, Mathiyazhagan and Faculty in charge, Mrs.Mythily. Overall, the event was a remarkable success gearing the students up for tougher tests in the future.
