It started off with children coming from various homes across the city. The inauguration started at 10 am with the speech of Rotaract club of MIT’s president Mr. Kameshwaran. It also featured Rotarians speaking on the unique aspects of Rotaract.
After the formal speeches were over, events such as chess, carrom, drawing, puzzle solving were conducted for the children. It was a place which brought back the innocence, laughter and mischief in us that were lost in the process of growing up.

Around 240 children from a total of eight homes that included Child home, Faith home, Kidscare, 7 Star, SOS, Surabhi, Karunai Illam, Jeeva Jyothi came to the fest. All the children were given a medical check up by the medical team from SRM group.

Lunch was provided for the children around 1 pm. After that the real fun started with events like solo dance, group dance and singing. Children aging from 9 to 18 years all having a wonderful time on their one day off, such scenes are rare to come by.

All the organisers and volunteers were in tears as they sent the children off after providing them with dinner at 6.30 pm. The event was a great success and the team promised to deliver even better in the Rotofest next semester.
