Ignited Thoughts, 2016, the first of its kind, was organised on October 15th, 2016 in the memory of our beloved alumnus Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam.
To keep Dr.Kalam’s vision and ideas etched in our minds forever, the Association of Aeronautical Engineers, Department of Aerospace Engineering organised Ignited Thoughts 2016, a conference which comprises of guest talks from the aerospace R&D institutions and industries apart from a paper presentation event.
Dr.A.Rajadurai, Dean, MIT delivered the presidential address. The conference had three eminent personalities from the aerospace industry, Mr. T.K.Sundara Murthy, Retd. Mission Director, ISRO, and Dr.S.Saravanan, Principal Research Scientist, IISc, Bangalore, who are also alumni of MIT, and Mr.P.V.Sreedhar, Deputy General Manager, Jet Airways, who spoke to the students about India’s space missions, experimental aerodynamics and the current trends in civil aviation.
Students from different colleges across Chennai and Kanchipuram attended the lectures and participated in the paper presentation event. They put forward innovative ideas to solve the problems faced by the aerospace industry.
Ignited Thoughts, 2016 gave an opportunity for the students to interact with scholars and experts from aerospace industries and come together to discuss their ideas to enhance the future of Aerospace.
The MIT Quill congratulates the organisers and wishes them for Flight 2017, national technical symposium of Department of Aerospace Engineering. To all the aerospace enthusiasts out there “Be here when Flight takes off!”
