*The below is a compilation of the on campus placement experience of the author, a final year IT student at MIT. She was recruited by Multicoreware Inc. She shares the experience of the company Zoho here. It was an intense process spanning 3 days.*

**ZOHO( 3 days) : Criteria: 6.0 above. **

**Round 1: Written**

30 Output of C programs with no choice. 10 (2 marks). 20 (1 mark) full loop programs with pointers

The questions were challenging and covered all C concepts.

**Round 2 : Coding**

Around 150 students shortlisted for this round. It was a local machine coding round. A staff will be assigned to a group of 5 students. He made note of the time each student took for solving each question. There were totally 7 questions and I solved 4 questions within that time. The given compiler was turbo C. No library functions are to be used

1) Alternate sorting: Given an array of integers, rearrange the array in such a way that the first element is first maximum and second element is first minimum and so on.

Eg.) Input: {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7}

Output: {7, 1, 6, 2, 5, 3, 4}

2) SECOND QUESTION WAS A VARIATION OF THE ABOVE ONE (EXTENSION)

3) Remove unbalanced parentheses in a given expression.

Eg.) Input: ((abc)((de)) Output: ((abc)(de)) ; Input: (((ab) Output: (ab)

4) Check whether a given mathematical expression is valid.

Eg.) Input: (a+b)(a*b) Output: Valid ; Input: (ab)(ab+) Output: Invalid ; Input: ((a+b)Output: Invalid

5) Form a number system with only 3 and 4. Find the nth number of the number system.

Eg.) The numbers are: 3, 4, 33, 34, 43, 44, 333, 334, 343, 344, 433, 434, 443, 444, 3333, 3334, 3343, 3344, 3433, 3434, 3443, 3444 ….

**Round 3:**

**Complex coding phase 1**

Matrix related question with multiplication between numbers like a bot can move 8 options up, down, left, right, cross up, down, etc questions were like with diagonal, without any diagonal

**Round 4:**

**Complex coding phase 2**

Treasure in matrix with solving enhancement in question

Number of secured treasures and unsecured treasures in given matrix

**Round 5:**

**Tech interview**

Asked about multiple inheritance in java

Interface in java

What do you know about zoho?

Coin puzzle: 9 coins all are fair except one is heavy. With min number of balances we need it to find it

Extension for 27 coins and then for 81 coins

Explain about intern project

Asked about access modifiers in java – protected , private etc

What is Singleton class? Explain when will you use it

Polymorphism, overloading abstract keyword

Reversing a string program

**Round 6:**

**2nd tech interview**

Asked about jdbc connectivity

DESCRIBE IN DEPTH ABOUT ONE OF YOUR PROJECT

A multiplication puzzle was asked.

Tell me about yourself

Personal background

How many companies you attended?

Why did you not get selected in those companies?

What is the process in that company?

How did you prepare for interview?

Why did you not go to other college for participating in competitions? (If you haven’t)
